You are SO RIGHT! I did the ride twice; the first time I was so excited and new to riding that for the most part, it was fun, albeit, long and slow. My newness and enthusiasm to the sport back in 2008 made the experience overall okay. Then I did the ride again in 2010 and it was so awful I still have the shakes. Too big, too slow and too many novice, stupid Sunday Lance-Armstrong wannabees. NEVER AGAIN. And now this news about the lottery and making the experience more rewarding? And for this privilege we have to pay 6 bucks for the right to pay more money? No thank you. Stick it where the sun don't shine. Glad to read another validating biker's opinion!
